Direct Support Professional

Job Description

We are hiring candidates to provide direct support to participants in our Behavioral Day Program. This includes assisting with daily activities such as community integration, social and recreational events, basic academics, public transportation, self-care, work skills, and communication skills, depending on the individual needs of each participant. One of the most important requirements for this position is patience and kindness. Candidates must have the ability to establish appropriate interactions and communication with participants, helping them build confidence and become as independent as possible.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum one year of experience
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Ability to adjust to changes

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure that participants receive attentive care and assistance throughout the program hours.
  • Complete participants’ daily notes, progress charts, activities, and weekly schedules promptly
  • Participate in monthly staff training/in-services, as well as other training such as Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), Person-Centered Thinking (PCT), and any other training required by the Department of Social Services or Regional Center.
  • Ability to implement Participants Independent Plan-ISP

Required:

  • Reliable transportation
  • Clean DMV driving record, Valid Driver’s License and Auto Insurance
  • Must pass Background Check with DOJ and FBI
  • Physical report and TB Clearance

Compensation:

  • $20.00 to $23.00
